The Friends of Moorfields is a registered charity raising funds for the benefit of the patients of Moorfields Eye Hospital, a world centre of excellence for the specialist treatment of diseases of the eye. Members come from all walks of life - patients, their relatives and friends, former patients and other well-wishers. Founded in 1963, our primary aim is to provide supplementary services and equipment for the comfort and well-being of patients and their visitors. We contribute towards buying much needed technical items for professional use in the hospital's clinics, outreach centres, operating theatres and research laboratories. We also promote and manage a wide range of volunteer work, supporting the work of the hospital and adding to the service provided.
