© Food & Drink Guide Picture yourself wandering down the world-famous Champs Elyses, pausing at the window of a warm and inviting bistro designed in decorative golds and rich reds. The aromas emerging from the kitchen draw you inside and, before you know it, you have spent an afternoon wining and dining Parisian style. It is this kind of relaxing eating and drinking experience that Caf Rouge has so expertly recreated on our shores. It is worth hopping out of bed early to experience Caf Rouges unique breakfast menu. Try smoked salmon croque with a Gruyere cheese topping, baguette aux saucisses, and, for a real taste of the Continent, there are pastries and warm filled croissants aplenty. The lunch and dinner menu offers something for every possible eventuality. The plats rapides are ideal for a break from hitting the shops, with quiche Lorraine and salmon fish cakes just two options for a lunch on the move, while sandwiches and salads provide even more choice. If you have a little more time, opt for a full three-course meal. Moules de Caf Rouge are a classic Gallic way to start a meal; and moving on, choose tasty duck confit with tangy orange liqueur sauce, French beans and creamy Dauphinois potatoes, or salads that dispel the myth that they offer a less hearty meal option. From les grillades section of the menu, and transporting you to the heart of the French countryside, is the cote de boeuf. But Caf Rouge would not be a true representation of the bistrot without an exceptional wine list they have a staggering range of quality wines, all of which are available by the glass or bottle. After all that indulgence, what better way to round things off than with a classic dessert? Tarte tatin and creme brule are both perfect for those with a sweet tooth, and the assiette of French cheeses is ideal for lingering over with a bottle of something red. This is pure gastronomic escapism.

With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience, Café Rouge has embodied the style and je ne sais quoi of French dining since it opened way back in 1989.
Now with over 90 sites across the country it's just the place to mull over the morning papers with a cafe au lait and a croissant, pop in for a spot of lunch, share a post-work drink or relax over an evening meal.
The menu covers a range of French classics from croques and baguettes, ideal for a quick and easy snack, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Likewise, the wines are predominately French; many made by lesser known producers, and provide the perfect accompaniment to the food on offer.
No hassle, no rush, no skinny- decaff-double-shot-to-go, just a vibrant atmosphere that moves with your moods throughout the day.
